Work each problem out on paper before choosing an answer — picking from options is easier than calculating from scratch, and the exam won't give you that shortcut. If you get one wrong, read the working and identify which step broke: was it the unit conversion, the setup, or the arithmetic? Those are three different problems with three different fixes.

Most nursing programs set the bar for medication calculation exams at 90% or higher, and a fair number require 100%. That sounds harsh until you consider what the exam is standing in for: in practice there's no partial credit on a dose. If you're scoring in the 70s here, that's not a near miss — it's a signal to keep going until the method is automatic.
The good news is that med math is almost entirely pattern recognition. There are perhaps six question shapes, and once each becomes familiar the arithmetic stops being the hard part. Repetition is genuinely what fixes it.
